Adventure Writer is a program which allows you to create your own text adventure games without any programming or scripting. It's similar to Text-World in this regard, although Text-World was released 16 years after Adventure Writer. Anyways, instead of scripts, Adventure Writer uses pre-defined forms for different types of things in the world, namely locations, objects, and flags (boolean variables). You can even "compile" the game you create for distribution. Although using such a system to create a game will necessarily involve limitations, it does provide an easy-to-use framework for making text adventures that conform to the typical genre type of "GET OBJECT" and "USE OBJECT" interactions, although limits (ex, the small length of text you get to describe an object) may end up being annoying.
