Gamescape is a text adventure (interactive fiction) game creator, similar in concept to others like AGT, except that it also allows you to include limited "graphics" in the games. The setup is somewhat confusing, with an editing program, a compiler, and a third program to run the actual games. You enter your locations, objects, and keywords, and define the logic that binds the whole game together. It seems to work as intended, but the author admits that you only get the full manual when you register, which cost $95 (!) making this possibly the most expensive shareware program on this website!

GAMESCAPE GRAPHIC: C.4 A powerful program that enables you to write and distribute your own graphic adventure games.  Gamescape contains an "adventure engine" that allows you to describe locations and rooms, objects, recognizable words, messages, and occurrences that happen within the game.  You can also include sound, music, hi-res color graphics, character graphics, random happenings and more. Encodes information so your game secrets cannot be deciphered by end users, and allows games to be "linked" so your adventures can be of any length.  It provides you the ability to design incredibly detailed and large adventure games with great ease.
