Rogue Clone IV is "an open-source reproduction of everybody's favorite role-playing game: Rogue." Originally created as a modification of the Rogue source code, the project has added various tweaks and improvements to the game over many years, the last update being in 2004. It keeps the original textmode characters, but some modifications make the game a bit more fair (read: easier) while others make the game a bit more playable. In any case, this is probably a better slightly more modern alternative to the original game, so unless you want the authenticity and nostalgia of playing the actual original, you may want to try this version instead. It's also available for Windows and Linux at the official website.
