DOSGames.com Review: Rating: 3
Orbots is an obscure horizontally scrolling shoot-em-up. It boasts decent graphics and sound effects. The story is summarized in the FILE_ID.DIZ as follows: "Pilot the astro-chopper to defeat an invasion of half machine, half organo mutants from another dimension." Sounds good! The gameplay feels a bit unrefined, and the bullets from the enemy ships are difficult to avoid due to the touchy controls and the constant stream of shots that they fire. It does support mouse or joystick so maybe those work better; I didn't try them. There are multiple kinds of enemies to fight, as well as powerups to collect. Not sure how many levels are included but it seems like there is a decent amount of game here to play. (Note: You can answer "N" for No when asked upon running the game if you want to run setup.)
