Iter Vehemens ad Necem (aka IVAN) means, in Latin, "Violent Road to Death". It is a Roguelike with graphics, and although rarely mentioned alongside other more well-known Roguelike examples, it seems to have a lot of polish and features. Like others in the genre, each world that you explore is unique. There are towns, dungeons, and many places to explore and, probably, die horribly. There are also a lot of keyboard commands to memorize, but you can always press ? to view a list of them. Overall it seems to have plenty of features and decent graphics (in 800x600 resolution!) as well. There is even an unofficial effort to continue developing the game (on non-DOS platforms) over at attnam.com so check that out if you're a fan of the game, there is tons of information available there.
