X-COM is a series of turn-based strategy games, which means that I have never played or even been interested in playing them. However the series is much loved by fans of the genre, and this demo gives you a sample of what you'll find in the main game. The basic premise is ALIENS, and they're bad, so pew-pew-pew! You must lead your squad to gather intelligence, fight the aliens, and destroy their base. You issue commands to your various troops and they carry them out. As mentioned it's turn-based so you can carefully plan your moves. Graphics and sounds are good for the time it was released. It definitely has a professional, high quality feel. (Note: In the demo, this game is referred to as "X-COM: Terran Defense Force". This was a working title for the game before it was released. This game is also known as X-COM: Enemy Unknown in the UK and in some other places.)
