The Terror is not a great game. It's a vertically scrolling shooting game with some interesting ideas and clearly a lot of work has gone into making it, but that just makes it's boring gameplay more frustrating. Unlike many shmups there is actually a story here, told through cutscenes and a lot of text; not just before the game starts, but between stages as well. The graphics are not bad with some nice scrolling effects. The main issue is that you are just shooting the same things over and over again, mainly rocks. In level two you finally get to fight some non-rock enemies, and then it's back to rocks again. Supposedly there are bosses in this game too but I didn't make it far enough to encounter them.
