Before completing the first Master of Orion (MOO) space strategy game, developer Steve Barcia presented a prototype of the game to MicroProse Software. At the time the game was dubbed "Star Lords" and it has now been released as freeware. Like MOO, it's a space building and expansion game where the goal is to expand your initial single planet into a galactic empire. Since it's essentially an early prototype of MOO without a lot of the later refinements, it serves as an interesting historical piece, but not one you might want to play for too long.
