Popcorn is a famous Arkanoid clone created in 1988 by a pair of French developers, Christophe Lacaze (code) and Frédérick (graphics/.sounds). This CGA Arkanoid clone was quite popular back in the early DOS days and was widely distributed online, for good reason! It plays quite well, and simulates most of the features of Arkanoid, albeit in CGA mode. The goal is the same: Break all the bricks on the level to progress. There are 50 levels in all, plus a level editor to create your own. The text of the game is in French but it's not too difficult to figure out what's what. (See Instructions for a list of all the function keys.) Note that pressing F9 toggles sound on/off! Full instructions in English can be found in the POP_ENG.DOC file translated by Phillip Bogle. (DOSBox is set to run in CGA mode, which displays the game with its intended RED color rather than the more typical CGA pink. If you're used to playing it in pink, run DOSBox in a VGA mode instead via the "machine" setting in dosbox.conf.)
