This demo pre-release version of Mortal Kombat 3 allows you to play as either Jax or Sheeva in a 1-player vs computer, or 2-player match. This is of course the third in the long-running series of MK games, known for their violent fatalities and signature gameplay which fighting game fans often either love or hate. This third installment looks and feels very similar to the arcade game, which is no small feat on MS-DOS in 1995. Although only two characters are playable here, you can get a feel for the game, including the characters' special moves. The main limitation to playing it in DOS is using the keyboard to play, with the default keys (arrow keys plus the Insert-Del-PgUp-PgDn keys as your attack keys) being rather difficult to use. Modern solutions like Joy2Key can help make this game easier to play. The full version is available from GOG.com in a set with games 1 & 2 of the series for a reasonable price.
