Kaboom is not a variant of the classic Atari 2600 game Kaboom. (If you're looking for that, try Kerboom! which is a decent DOS clone.) Anyways, this game is a deathmatch fighting game for up to four players. At least two human combatants are required, otherwise it'll be rather boring since there are no CPU opponents available. (This is apparently a public beta version so it's missing some features the author planned for the full game.) There are no weapons other than the default blaster, so you'll need to use that (and avoid all of the other things trying to kill you) to take out your opponents as you fly around the gritty industrial type arenas. It looks good and controls well, and there are plenty of options to tinker with, but the core gameplay won't likely hold your attention for too long, especially if you don't have a second player around to play with.
