DEFCON 1 is a competent Missile Command clone. This one involves the "evil" Switzerland trying to take over the world. (Of course ...) You use your mouse to destroy oncoming ballistic missiles as they rapidly approach cities at the bottom of the screen. Unlike Missile Command, your shots explode instantly, so this makes it much easier to play. There are also special weapons that you can earn, but these are given quite rarely. Each stage the action gets more intense, although the rounds are a bit longer than I would prefer. Graphics are a little better than the standard arcade type graphics but not by much.
