A question and suggestion for the administrators

I got a question.
What do you do with guys who register and only have like 4 posts and all of them are spam?

For example:

http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight=

I got a suggestion to make.
If you notice the IP from wich they are posted, you could probably see that if they are having indentical IP's.
So why wouldn't it be easier to ban those certain IP which are spammed from?

For example:

We have a few registered accounts from wich was posted spam.
The IP's follow like this:

Example:

50.121.56.85
50.121.54.92
50.121.54.23
50.121.56.85

So wouldn't it be easier to ban IP's like: 50.121.*.*

Would that be possible, and if yes would you like to do this?

The last three spammers I've removed have had very different IP addresses.

We can't do a wide-spectrum IP ban. We might ban someone we like.

Besides, if you seem something fishy, don't click on it. One of the admins or mods will take care of it.

Yea the problem with banning ranges of IPs is that to ban one spammer we'd prolly be banning dozens or hundreds of potential visitors also. There has been more spam lately, but unfortunately theres no way around it other than deleting and banning as it happens. I have two spam prevention mods installed so they take care of some of it.

As a would-be admin I must ask you: Which spam prevention mods?
