N64 or GameCube game

I'm looking to find an old N64 or GameCube game. I know little info.
There was an alien or robot creature that had no legs and it hovered above the ground. You could be different characters and they would fight. The creature that I remember also had hands but it wasn't human. It could also shoot a light orb.
I remember another character in the game that looked like bumble bee from transformers but it wasn't him.
