It installs fine (when cdrom is loaded and only selecting the soundblaster)
After that when starting smission.bat it returns to the dekstop. I even tried the CD-I version on the cdi emulator but it wont work either. Please help.

No, you use windows 7 and D-Fend.

Try to run it on a regular dosbox, yes, means download 0.74 again and reinstall it.
This time follow this instructions for win7
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13511
At least it will avoid idiotic mount lines as
Jacques Vermeire wrote: mount C "I:\EMULAT~2\D-FEND~1\VIRTUA~1\SECRET~1"

Don't use a frontend, makes it much to hard to find out where it goes wrong.
Of course if you want to use a frontend, your choice, but then you'll have to ask for help on a frontend forum.

Didn't told you much more than the basics till now ....
Jacques Vermeire wrote:HELP!!!
Now listen, this is how it works here:
You ,yes YOU, post relevant details, as are:
-> Your OS (already know, Win7, 32 or 64 doesn't really matter here, basics are the same)
-> Your dosbox version (important here!!)
-> Your mount lines (Important here !!) , and detailed, mount lines by install, install choices, mount lines when running the game, user inputs .... etcetera

My educated guess: you screwed up somewhere in your mounting choices, now yeah, not really 'screwed up', more it went wrong somewhere.

Also important: delete all game folders from DFend, start over from scratch.
And if still problems: please post asked details.(important, yes, indeed).

Great chances I will need some additional info, for the moment I'm in a situation that restricts me to testrun a lot myself, so info must come from you.

[Edit]
BTW, you don't try to run the CD-I version in dosbox, do you ???????????

[Edit²]
From my (blurry?) memory, when you put the CD from Secret mission in autorun will want to access the CD, REFUSE AND QUIT autorun, game MUST be installed WITHIN dosbox !!!

:suspicious:
Hmmmm, from memory I seem to remember that when you mount everything correctly and install the game the right way it should work flawless in dosbox.
Could be wrong of course, but I don't think so.

Means: that you have to copy stuff manually is an indice that you still haven't grasp the correct basics of dosbox.

Also means that when you will try out some more nitpicking game in dosbox you'll be back I guess.

Ok, you're right, im back :s

The game plays flaweless but i have no sound!

When i go to setup i select

Sound Card: Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32
Port: 220 IRQ: 7 DMA: 5

I push "test" and it plays the sound

Then for Midi I select:

Sound Card : Sound Blaster 16
Port: 388

I push "test" and it plays the sound

Then it says "Installation Completed"

I start the game (smission.bat) and it plays the game fine but i have no sound.

(i use dosbox 0.74 windows 7 32 bit)

Here my config

fullscreen=false
fulldouble=false

# machine: The type of machine tries to emulate.
# Possible values: hercules, cga, tandy, pcjr, ega, vgaonly, svga_s3, svga_et3000, svga_et4000, svga_paradise, vesa_nolfb, vesa_oldvbe.
# captures: Directory where things like wave, midi, screenshot get captured.
# memsize: Amount of memory DOSBox has in megabytes.
# This value is best left at its default to avoid problems with some games,
# though few games might require a higher value.
# There is generally no speed advantage when raising this value.

# frameskip: How many frames DOSBox skips before drawing one.
# aspect: Do aspect correction, if your output method doesn't support scaling this can slow things down!.
# scaler: Scaler used to enlarge/enhance low resolution modes.

[cpu]
# core: CPU Core used in emulation. auto will switch to dynamic if available and appropriate.

# Possible values: auto, 386, 386_slow, 486_slow, pentium_slow, 386_prefetch.
# cycles: Amount of instructions DOSBox tries to emulate each millisecond.
# Setting this value too high results in sound dropouts and lags.
# Cycles can be set in 3 ways:
# 'auto' tries to guess what a game needs.
# It usually works, but can fail for certain games.
# 'fixed #number' will set a fixed amount of cycles. This is what you usually need if 'auto' fails.
# (Example: fixed 4000).
# 'max' will allocate as much cycles as your computer is able to handle.
#
# Possible values: auto, fixed, max.

# oplemu: Provider for the OPL emulation. compat might provide better quality (see oplrate as well).

And no i didnt use the CD-I rom in dosbox.

I really wanne play this game, pure nostalgic.

Thanks in advance!
