getting "heroes of might and magic 2" demo to run

i cant figure out how to do this, have tried compatibility wizard. i missed this game from when i was a wee lass and its driving me nuts! pleeeeeeeeas help

in dosbox it says it cannot be run in dosbox
please help?

HoMM2 runs in dosbox.
What did you do t'll now?
DETAILS ....details ..... details ....
Post ALL your mount lines, what you've input ... and so on.

BTW: in dosbox you must use 'install' ,
Setup is for windows, and it works in XP with comp mode, but without sound (music).

Just remembered something: To run HoMM2 in Win(XP) you need WING32.DLL in c:\windows\system32\ .

homm2 crashed a lot on me. HOMM3 on the otherhand works perfect. You should get it =) they use a lot of the HOMM2 stuff, just made it work for WinXP better.

Btw, i don't think it crashed because of running it on XP. It just had a few bugs. Helps to save often so you don't lose your progress
