Hints and Tips for frequently asked!

Post by Wally »

-Prince Of Persias (ALL)-

1. Controls
2. Hints
3. Saving Games

1. -Controls-
Normal:
Use the Numpad for directions
shift- jumps onto ledges

Fighting:
Shift - to strike / attack
7, 8, 9 on the numeric pad - to shield / defend

2. -Hints-

o At level 3, dont use the "killing-cheat" (by pressing "K") on the skeleton or the game will crash.

o At level 12, dont use the "killing-cheat" (by pressing "K") on your
mirror-reflection or you will die and cannot return (by pressing "R").

o You can get rid of enemies by pushing them off an edge or into a trap.

o You can let tiles fall onto other tiles to keep a door open, or to make sure it cannot be closed.

o Try killing enemies when they are on a tile, so they will keep a door open for you.

o When jumping, ALWAYS hold down the button. You will never know when
you shall slip or fall short of the jump. Also, make yourself as
close as possible to an edge before you jump so you can get maximum
distance.

o When fighting, the most effective way is to use the standard
block-and-hit technique. To do this, wait till the opponent strikes,
block by pressing up, then immediately press the button and the
character strike and get a better chance of hitting the opponent.

o Inspect everyroom for secret passages. There are many in this game
and you will not be able to finish it without finding them. To find
them, jump up and down to look for any floor passages. Jump up and
hit the ceiling to look for any ceiling passages.

o Doors don't stay open forever. Once you step on a step-block, the
doors will start to close. . . that is unless something is on the
step-block.

o Learn to distinguish step-blocks from the floor.

o After you complete each level (after Level 2), save the game by
pressing Control-G. When you die, restart by pressing Control-R
and then press Control-L to resume your game. This will allow you
to save a lot of time considering that you WILL die.

o Don't be afraid to explore. In order to win the game, you must
explore every detail of the game and not miss anything on any level.

Where to find the sword on POP 4D
Go to the top of the first room you are in then across the platform at the top and drop down a couple of floors. You should only be able to go left into the second room (careful of spikes). Climb up then jump over spike pit and climb up to next floor and into next room. On the other side of the room there are platforms going up. If you ignore these and continue to the left you can get the sword but you can actually finish the level without getting the sword.

3. -Saving-

For Prince of Persia:
Ctrl+G saves your game
Ctrl+L resumes the last saved game (Press during title sequence)
You can only save your game from Level 3 onwards.

For Prince of Persia 2,
Alt+G saves your game
Alt+L resumes your saved game

For Prince of Persia 4D, it is the same way of saving as Prince of Persia as POP4D

was made based on POP1.

4. -Misc-
http://www.princed.com.ar/ - Editors and Tools
http://www.geocities.com/quaversmail/4dprince.zip - Patch to fix the error at the start of LVL 11 where it says to insert disk into drive A: (POP 4D only. You may already have this patch so be wary.

--------------------------------------------

Leisure Suit Larry

-Hints-
If you are over 18 or incredibly horny . Press the following on each version of the game to get passed the first screens successfully.
Larry 1 simply press alt-x
Larry 2: View http://www.allowe.com/images/L-2CPwomen.gif

Some of the games have glitches involved: http://geocities.com/belzorash/ has all the fixes.

Copyright stuff: I don't wish to post the stuff to pass copyright stuff but you should find that in google.

If you look beside the "Game Help, Hints and Tips -> Hints and Tips for frequently asked!" you will see that it has 4338+ views.
Means that lot of people at least took a glance at it, and a whole lot of them readed it.
That there aren't much replies is because guests can't post here, that's to avoid spamming.
Doesn't mean we allow our members to spam up topics, at least not the serious topics. Be a nice girly Coldie and take a quick look at TeH Rulez of the forum.
Not that we apply them rigidly (or like to do so), but keep it reasonable.

;)
