Aquiring full sound for "Day of the Tentacle" in d

Post by Adrasteia »

Hey guys, I recently got dosbox working great with the D.O.G. frontend, and I'm mostly satisfied...

But I can't seem to get every speaking part working for DOTT. The characters speak during cut scenes, but when I examine items I only get text above the characters head instead of them speaking. I've tried fooling around with the settings, but it will not work. I just don't know what i have to change so everything is spoken.

The sound is the best part of the game for me, so please help.

The default Soundblaster sound settings used by dosbox are:
A 220
IRQ 7
DMA 1
HDMA 5

Most games runs best with Soundblaster16 or Soundblaster Pro emulation in dosbox.
Did you setup your game accordingly?

I'm not familiar with front ends, never use them.

Only the cd-rom version has full talk.
NO Windows, NO DOSBox, DOS!

^That must be it. My cdrom version wouldn't work on my laptop, so I downloaded a dosbox friendly version.

That's really too bad. Thanks for the help, though!

The CD version works in dosbox.
Did you mount your CDdrive as D in dosbox correctly?

For this game, get a CD version, then use ScummVM. It works wonders.

Dude, this is a month old topic :/

Even though your solution might seem valid, I doubt that person will ever come back

I like this game though, it's worth keeping the topic alive. by now everyone should have found the game and walkthrough though. There are bugs and at the end it probably crashes. wouldn't mind finding a fix for that.

Not as chattopic in GGTW.
But feel free to open a topic about the game to discuss it in
'Game Help, Hints and Tips' or 'General Gaming'.
You may even write a nice review about that game, don't restrain yourself.
Glocked.
