adventure games

Post by abyss »

What are some adventure games that will give me a challenge as i am done wirh lighthouse without using a faq and done with space quest 4 and police quest 1 without needing a faq. All i needed a faq for in police quest 1 was for all the numbers and all i needed help for space quest 4 was that extremly hard skating part. I have the rest of the space quest and police quest games to beat. I am terrible a text based adventure games so space quest 2,3 and police quest 2 are not going to be beaten. I am done police quest 4 and space quest 6. That just leaves space quest 5 and police quest 3 to beat.

My suggestions:

Quest for Glory(a.k.a. Hero Quest) - all editions,
The Castle of Dr. Brain,
The Island of Dr. Brain,
The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain,
The Time Warp of Dr. Brain
Eco Quest - The Search for Cetus,
Eco Quest II - The Lost Secret of the Rainforest,
Freddy Pharkas - Frontier Pharmacist,
Laura Bow - any edition you can find,
King Quest - all editions,
Beneath a Steel Sky,
Day of the Tentacle,
Full Throttle,
Gobliiins/Goblins,
Indiana Jones - Anything you can find,
Loom,
Monkey Island - all editions,
Simon the Sorceror - all editions,
The Dig,
Sam and Max hit the Road.

[edit]LoL, I forgot Leisure Suit Larry  But don't play it if you're underage

Satisfied?

Oooh, Completed (Out of those):
King's Quest (Entire Series)
Beneath a Steel Sky
DoTT
Full Throttle
Gobliiins, Gobliins 2, and Goblins 3,
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,
Every Monkey Island game
All the Simon the Sorcerer games (which were brilliant, I may add, and there's a fourth coming soon),
The Dig (which I thought was fairly impressive)
and, yes - Sam & Max - That was probably the best one I've ever played all the way through.

So you want an adventure game, but you don't want to play any of the best adventure games around? :shifty:

Well you can always try the good 'ol DOSGames.com ...
http://www.dosgames.com/g_adv.php
You can find a few point and click style games there like Permanent Daylight, Lure of the Temptress and Teen Agent. (Teen Agent is rather difficult tho.)

There's also a bunch of fan-made games available at the AGS page:
http://new.bigbluecup.com/games.php

One in particular that I found quite well done is 5 Days a Stranger:
http://new.bigbluecup.com/games.php?act ... ail&id=269
Good stuff, that. It's kinda creepy.

Yup, Permanent Daylight's the way to go if you want to finish a game in less than 3 hours

Wow I love some of those adventure games. I like lure of the temptress, maddog williams mystec towers and god of thunder and gemworld and dismal passages and 5 days a stranger and permanent daylight. Hugo is a very challenging game. I am stuck at the dining room part. Edit: Their is an Invincible Island Remake thanks for that adventure game link as i have just found a remake of a very awesome game.

I saw this list tonight, figured some of you would enjoy these games:

Top 20 Free Adventure Games of 2006
http://indygamer.blogspot.com/search/label/adv2006

Well it's really only the top 16 because the last 4 are the "deluxe" versions of some of Ben Croshaw's games. Other than Ben's, I haven't played any of the games on the list yet, but some of 'em look good.

Dungeon man and the marionette look really nice but the rest don't really appeal to me. The kind of adventure game i want is one that is a lot like lighthouse.

Franpa you're not doing this right, you shouldn't ask him to resize his avatar, you should ask:

"What's your good reason to have an avatar bigger than 150X150"

Do you meant The Wizard's Castle ?
I've played the dos version long time ago, didn't really liked it, too repetitive for my taste, and your grammar has to be pretty correct if I remember well. (TXT based RPG game)

Seems there is a windows remake, never tried that one.
