I figured out what the issue was. I made a BIN of the original CD because my optical drive is really noisy. apparently this old game has copy protection on it and I can only play with the original cd inside, not off a virtual disc on my hdd. stuubid

Perhaps the game expected a particular label for the CD? This was often the trick that was used for copy protection back in the day.

You can set a label for your virtual CD with the -label command line option:

(This should work with IMGMOUNT too.)

God, Jesus, Mary!

Also another trick is that it expects a bit to be written at a sector specified.

For instance let's say you have a game that contains 500MB data.

Well most copying methods will only copy that 500MB into an ISO.

However the producer of copyright who are greedy will write a single bit.

They write it at the very last sector (say 500MB+1).

Well when you try to reproduce that ISO the original is not there.

The reason is now easy to see.

It is missing that extra bit.

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!
