RPG Stories/Wars Banned

Post by Dogbreath »

Due to recent overuse and extreme stupidity, all forms RPGish wars and stories are now disallowed. An example of what I mean would be this:

*Foo shoots Bar*
*Bar lobs a grenade at Foo*
*Foo comes after Bar with a chainsaw*
*Bar ducks and shoves Foo down a razor slide naked into a bath of salt water*
*Foo unleashes unspeakable horror and pain of Bar*
Etc.

This is completely idiotic, produces PAGES of spam, and has ruined several otherwise good topics.

We DO have a

Community Story
that actually has a somewhat intricate plot and is halfway decent. Please use this if you need to write a story. Better yet, compose a short story and post it in our Literature forum. We *do* allow our users to express themselves in written form if in an intelligent way, but RPG stories are not acceptable.

Thanks. It was getting annoying, and I have already warned RPG "participants".

Would it be alright to start another community-type story sometime? Like, is this only against the *[action move]* crap, or is it against all RPG type things in general. Over at GameHippo we're having a thing in the Poetry and Prose section where you take control of armies, there's a god, and whatnot, and I was thinking about bringing that here if all goes right....a lot of it is done through e-mail, though.

Just senseless RPG battles, whether it's

/slaps Proco
/eats babies

or *slaps Proco*
*Eats babies*,

just the nonsense battles, not organized things like Hidden Kingdoms.

Start a whole topic on Forum wars? That would not only waste space, it would also just be a Post count raiser for Spammers.

Nope, I refuse to classify RPG Wars as real literature. If you want to do it, then take the time to write a decent story.

Yes, you may start stories akin to the Community Story but I reserve the right to stop it whenever I feel like it.

A lot of forums have a script to make post counts not increase in certain forums (in our case, Forum games)

I don't really care about post count, it doesn't mean anything. What does matter is post quality.

But forum games Make a bit more sense rather than a bunch of

*Grabs a bazooka*
*Shoots Kazer0 in the ass*
*Drops it and runs*

I think DB was right on this one; the difference between fun and useless posts is sometimes a fine line but I think in this case the decision is the correct one. ;) :cuccoan:

It tells no story. It's just a bunch of idiots battling it out via internet. Over here, we don't do that;We get Bats.

You seem to be the one who RPG wared the most, TD.
