Terry Pratchett - Discworld

Post by ItalAussie »

How many people read the Discworld Collection written by Terry Pratchett.

It's an excellent series which, which often being humourous and full of parodies, also stands on it's own as excellent stories. There are several characters which the books revolve around (different books revolve around different characters), some of the best including Rincewind the Wizard and Sam Vimes the cop.

I would tentatively label the series fantasy, but not in the "Lord of the Rings" sense. It is to fantasy what "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is to science-fiction.

Defintely worth a read.

I haven’t read the books although I’m pretty sure Wally has played the game, infact I think that’s what he’s doing right now.

I've read the first three, I must get around to the rest.

They are indeed quite good, though I'm more of a Xanth person when it comes to silly fantasy.
