DOS computer going too fast!

Post by Ralv »

I got a free computer, looked in the BIOS and it runs at 1 Ghz, obviously it runs too fast for older games. I want to run DOS natively, and have that setup. But I need to find a way to either under clock it, or to get one of those slowing applications, the only ones I could find are for Windows or Macintosh computers.

A 1GHz is indeed a bit of an overkill ....
Could try Mo Slo http://www.hpaa.com/moslo/
Or by disabling the cache (BIOS setting)
On the other hand, personally I would use it for W98SE, not for MsDos.

If you want a dedicated MsDos PC , search an P1/P2, and pref with an ISA slot for the soundcard.
P1-P2s are thrown in the bin ......

Oh I will try that, and I was wrong, it was 3 Ghz.. I got a spare Harddrive, and I might just put windows 98 like you said on it. Thanks for your advice!
