I got Corridor7 to work in XP and dosbox, but when I try to save a game, I get a flash type msg. that says "not enough room on drive to save".

Mount lines?
Inputs to run the game?
Original? Downloaded?
How did you install the game?

I am running from the cd.
I mount D to play
Not sure what you mean by inputs. If it helps, I can ctrl-F12 to speed game up.
I "intro cdrom" then mount d and then change to D: & enter cd Corr7cd

If you can change the save directory, that will probably work.
You're getting a "not enough room" error because the D: is a finalized CD that the game cannot write data to.

First of all, you install dosbox correctly:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5443

Next:
You mount your CD as D: in dosbox and install the game on C:
You run the game from C: in doxbox and you will be able to save.

By beginning answering questions when asked, when I ask a question, it's for a good reason.
So, once again:
dosraider wrote:Mount lines?
texhunt wrote:I can mount D ,
Is not enough.
I want:
-> your mount line for your C:
-> your mount line for your D:
And I mean detailed.

Without knowing if you can or not mount those correctly it's useless to give you further instructions.

I use this to mount D
Z:\>mount d D:\ -t cdrom enter

then;
Z:\>D:\ enter

then;
D:\cd corr7cd enter

then;
corr7cd enter, the game starts

I don't do anything with C to start the game, but when I tried anything with C, it says C does not exist.

You must mount a virtual C:

Read and apply this:

Now yeah, your D: mount seems to be OK, now the rest .....
Step by step.

Are you asking me for more step by step? After the game starts, I just play it. I gave you all that I do to start the game.

in the meantime,I will try the virtual c like you suggested.

Thanks

Well, if you want to run the game from a CD, you can. If you mount c:\oldgames, you should be able to save.

DOSBOX works by emulating a DOS environment. However, it needs user commands to determine where and what it can access.
If you mount C: (as C:/oldgames or whatever) and D: (as your CD drive), DOSBOX will be able to access both your C:/oldgames folder and your CD drive.
So, when you save to C: from the game, it should save to your "C:/oldgames" folder, because that's what DOSBOX and the game think it is.

I've been trying to recreate your scenario, but I only have the demo, which won't let me save.
But see if what I said helps.

tl;dr: Mount both the C and D drives.

Mount also your CD as D: and you will have to install the game on your C:

Input

d:
install

Don't remember ..... sorry, too long ago. Only some transporters can give you access to them as far as I remember.

But you always can warp to them .......

Yeah, I saw those, but I am not sure how to use them. Does the game need to be up and running when I try those?
Yes, there are transporters, but I think you have to get to the 31st level first.

I don't have the game installed now, but reading this:
You can use a handful of additional keys to accomplish various actions or get various data in the game. These keys require that you start Corridor 7 with the "level1diagnostic" command line parameter. Additionally, you must press [Ctrl], left [Shift], and [Tab] keys at the same time during play, you will see "Special keys enabled" to know that the cheat worked.
You will have to run the game with:
corr7 level1diagnostic
or
corr7 -level1diagnostic
or
corr7cd level1diagnostic
or
corr7cd -level1diagnostic
or
.... etcetera ... trial and error will be your destiny. :P

Hitting [Ctrl], left [Shift], and [Tab] must be done ingame or in the menu screen I guess.
Then the cheat codes should be accessible.

If you really can't get them working let us know, maybe I will have some time next week or so to see if I can get them cheats working with my CD version.

However, don't hold your breath waiting, I have an influx of #@#@#@ grandkids the weeks to come, so not much free time.....

Hello all,

From what I've discovered if I mount as described below

Code: Select all

mount c: C:\oldgames
mount d: L:\
D:
dig (or game executable)
Where C is game save folder, and L is the game CDROM. I can therefore save the game.

Whereas if I try and use an alternative save directory, say my media HDD M:\

Code: Select all

mount c: M:\oldgames
mount d: L:\
D:
dig (or game executable)
I get an error, it asks about making a bootable disk. Long story short, game doesn't play

If I do

Code: Select all

mount m: M:\oldgames
mount d: L:\
D:
dig (or game executable)
Game plays but when I attempt to save I get "Game NOT saved" or wtte

Given that I don't have the option to save if I mount local directory to other letters, for some reason I'm restricted to C, and D I hypothesis this might be some legacy of dos...however I'm just guessing.

Regards.
