All my DosGames run slow, very slow, too slow. (winXP)

From the first moment I could run the DOS-games I wanted in Windows XP, but they are running very slow. Does anyone have an answer for this problem? I tried everyting what the "guide" says about running dos games in XP, but it is still too slow.

time to pick up a basic pc with the older OS for the games??
GIVE ME A FASTER COMPUTER! WITH TOP OF THE LINE RAM.......BUT I STILL LOVE MY 133....
