Very. I think a course of proper puncuation and capitalization should be a requirement for joining the forum.

Of course it should. But it's discrimination, since not everybody can read or write, and that's mostly not a choice whether you can or can't. Opposed to smoking. People are learning by posting.

But yeah, some people...

lyk i full3 fink dat talkin lyk dis iz da bombzz!!1!one! LOLZ.

If you have time to write on a forum, you have time to do your best at grammar and spelling. I'm not saying it has to be perfect, but atleast have an attempt. Anything you say if it is written illegibly will be dismissed as an argument even if you make a good point. You have the time to edit (not like on instant chat, etc), so use it.

:) Personal pet hates: "Try AND do it..." (should be "to"), "I seen you yesterday", "I done my homework"... I'm a bit picky...But really, a good attempt is all that is needed. :)

Seeing as about half of the regulars on this forum have a tenuous grasp on the use of spelling, grammar and punctuation, there'd be even less posters than there are now. Of course, it would be a utopia, and these people annoy me every time I'm on this forum, but it's not worth it. If only they'd read over their posts before they submitted them and realised they're looking like idiots otherwise ...
