Rules Update

Post by Wally »

Could you please alter the rule about finding old games as stated in 1f to.

Before you come to us please spare some time and search for this game using either Google or Altavista, this will save us time finding games which some people cant be bothered searching and will give us more time to help those people who can not find this game at all and have provided a full description.

One post recently noted that some people are lazy and cant be bothered to google the game before coming to us. This really takes up time helping other users. If they could state that they cant find this game with a search engine

A sample of this type of post (Which i have given the link out to)

You being a moderator and all, I think this would be better in the staff forum... But that's just me.

You could just point them all to http://www.justfuckinggoogleit.com ... ;)

I guess that's a fair rule addition ... I doubt people that come and post on the forum without thinking to search Google first are going to bother to read the rules ... but owell ...

PS. How about a no-animated-avatars rule while we're at it? :P

Exactly how many people who are too lazy to google something are going to spend 10 minutes reading the forum rules? :suspicious:

Yep. :upset: Probably only 1% to maybe 3% of people ever read the rules. I know I usually just skip by 'em when I join a forum :P

See? I represent a group of people who're so lazy they don't even read the other posts in a topic, much less the rules! :)
