ya, becuase it seems to me that it also stretched images < 100x100 to = 100x100 so small images looked crappy, and larger shrunken down images looked crappy... and in this case, the two negatives didn't come out as a positive.

Wally: I have this program called Irfanview that automatically shrinks pictures to fit *AND* keeps them in scale so they don't get stretched. E-mail me if you want to send you it.

They're just recommended limits. 100x100 is quite small- I'd say about 1/4 of the people with avatars have over 100x100. Also the only way you can resize is by making a smaller copy on the server. The only time you can restrict is through Avatar Uploads, removing Remote.

Although someone's probably made a mod somewhere. I'll check phpBBHacks.com when they're back up. What would be better is that you can manually resize it- it has to print the <IMG> tag anyway.

NEW!- Fixed the <IMG>.

Dead wrong. My avatar is under 100x100, and it's not small. Also, 100x100 (or 150x150 now) *IS* the absolute maximum, not a suggestion.
