Game about a spaceship

So I just remembered a simple game I enjoyed while being a teen. I was playing on PC, windows 7 I think, between 2009 and 2013. The game itself can be older than that of course. Now about the game, it was a top down action game where I was playing as some spaceship/shooty thingy going around earth and shooting at incoming asteroids/ships/whatever junk. I remember there was levels, and upgrades to the earth and the ship. If anybody has any idea I would be very happy to hear!!!!
