I remember this game having the anime-style character on the disc. I want to say she had blue hair but I’m not sure. I played it on Windows PC (whichever version was out 10 years ago.) It had no animations, just the picture changing. Definitely 2D.
I remember it starting with the character’s mother dying and then her being in an orphanage? She was kicked out when she turned 18 and lived in a village. It isn’t a medieval centered game but I believe it took place back then. You had a stamina and HP bar, and could buy armor at the local shops. You could work odd jobs (lifting boxes is one I remember specifically) and you could also go down into caves/dungeons and explore. If you died to a monster down there you’d wake up in an Inn/hospital. You could also participate in local festivals, my favorite was the mage competition. There were also multiple endings and an option on the menu where you could view them (Librarian, Mage, Knight, Adventurer, etc.)
