Looking for a 2D game with man crouching with down arrow!

Hi All! I’m looking for an old game I used to play.
Platform: I’m 33. We had a Commodore 64 when I was 6-7. We got a PC when I was 8-9 which was DOS based. Few years later we had a Windows machine. I have no idea which platform this game was on. Most probably it was not on Windows.
Game description:
- 2D. Extremely basic.
- I remember the colors were cold, maybe blue and gray.
- structured map between the screens. I remember my father had put together the map for one of the episodes of the game to show how to get from one screen to another.
- character: the player was a guy who could crouch with the down arrow to hide from the enemy. The crouching had a funny sound. Then with the up arrow he could get back to stand, with another funny sound! Almost the opposite of the crouching sound.
- enemies: I remember two of them. 1. A ghoul which used to come up from the ground as you walked in the screen where the ghoul was! The player would die when he was in contact with the ghoul. There was no shooting or anything like that. You had to collect stuff from the other screens to make the ghoul disappear. That’s where the map came in handy! 2. A beggar: all the beggar did was to block your way! Again, you had to collect bags of money from other screens to give to the beggar to pass! The game was too basic and too smart!
- other things I remember:
goal was to go from one point to another, similar to games where there’s a start door and an end door. I don’t remember any doors though.
I don’t remember any kind of shootings! But then I don’t know the purpose of the down arrow and what we were trying to protect ourselves from!
I remember one possible ending of the game was to get stuck in a world with no escape.
I’d really appreciate if anyone shares their thoughts on this! I’ve been trying to find this for over a year! Thank you!
