Official DGF Meetup - August 8-10

Post by Dogbreath »

This has been discussed in private channels for about half a year now, so I figured I ought to make it public and official:

What: Dosgames Forum is having it's first official meetup this August! From Friday the 8th to Sunday the 10th we'll be meeting in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, there to play games, explore a city, visit various drinking establishments, and generally annoy each other in whatever way possible for 3 days. We'll rendezvous at emmzee's <strike>castle</strike> apartment, and go from there. (pm him for address/directions)

Who: More details and plans to follow as people sign up. So far emmzee and myself are going to be there for sure, and Mr. Worm and Wardrich will most likely be there. Other members have expressed various degrees of interest.

Travel Tips: If you live in the continental US within driving range, consider carpooling with another DGF member. I'll personally be following 69 through Indiana, Michigan, and Ontario (where it becomes 401/402?), so if you live in or near those areas, PM me and I'll try and meet you on the road.
If you live in Europe and still really want to come, check flight prices out of different cities. I know the British airline subsidized a lot of flights, so taking a train/ferry to London or Paris and catching a flight from there might be a good deal cheaper than, say, flying straight out of Bucharest.
Also, buy tickets ASAP, airlines jack up prices a lot as the date of the flight gets closer.

I hope to see all of your ugly faces soon!

Recap:
Friday, August 8- Sunday, August 10
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
meeting at emmzee's place (pm him for directions)

I'll have you know my "shotgun" is the trunk... don't worry, I'll let some air in from time to time.

Wally: You, Gamer, TSM, Cyber God, NPS, and the rest of the Aussies should have a down under DGF meetup during the same dates. We could get a series of webcams going and everything...

I just noticed that, lol, actually, taking a British airline flight from Paris would only be 12€ cheaper, so your idea is bad! :P

edit: but you could always give me money for the tickets! :P

Hey I think I made a gif about something like this some time back lol and proposed the idea too :P

http://dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3878

The meet up is a great idea. I live in India so.... I guess that I can't make it... but my brother lives in Canada so maybe I could ask him to drop by as my representative and deliver a speech on my behalf... and uh... party on my behalf too :D

Anywayz have fun and don't forget to share photos! B)

Honnestly said:
Sad but true, I think I'm getting a bit too old with my 52 for such gatherings.
I lack the energy for it.
You young blokes have fun, plenty of it.

We could all crash in on your house... that'd spare you the trip.(and aggravate you, for hosting a bunch of young blokes, but that's just the fun of it) :D
