It is either ZZT or MegaZeux (a more advanced version of ZZT).

I can't think of any specific place to DL them, but they were quite popular, so a google search should yield somthing.

Cats: the cute little balls of death are just too good :D Spend most of their time looking for somewhere to sleep, or something to eat (which means killing pests: they'll eat anything as long as it once breathed and is smaller than them). And they tend to be more toilet-trained than dogs (though the...

If the game tracks the number of saves used in each save file, start a new game. Save once, then use a hex editor to search the save file for any entries of 1 (or '01' or whatever it is in hex). If there aren't many versions of 1, just note where they all are. Go back to the game, change nothing, bu...

IMO the best is Death Rally by a long way. It isn't as cartoony as the ones you mentioned (much darker feel to it), but it is far more fun.

www.3drealms.com They are one of the beat places to get old games. They were the makers of Commander Keen, Duke3D, Death Rally, Quake etc and have an online store. The Freeware sites (such as dosgames.com) are a good place to find older shareware games: though you won't get many full version games. ...

Well, if it's spreading on its own, that's a good thing. However, it doesn't count as a web-fad until it appears in a news post in a comic: www.ctrlaltdel-online.com, www.penny-arcade.com, www.nuklearpower.com. Get it on them and I'll be impressed. The flood of traffic caused by links from those sit...

Steve: It was written in C with the allegro library. As for music, it was cut at the last minute.I wound up composing some pieces for another game I wrote and regretted cutting music from pyro: the style would have been really easy to write.

You've already got 2-3 movies around don't you?

Just host them: make about 4-5 HTML pages to support them. I can personally say, Emmzee's help was great for my programming: he helped me find a good game development package then offered a great idea for web hosting (www.pyrogame.com).

(Checks EBay)

Holy crap, greenhouse and Donkey Kong are going for $30-$40. Might see if they are working after all. They might even be worth something as they are (I doubt the problems are too severe) to a collecter / games store.

You're going to have to be honest here: Are you Sara Hickman?

If you are, that's ok. If not: why sign up just to tell us about someone who you only heard a couple of days ago?

I had a couple of Game-and-watch games: Donkey Kong, Greenhouse (something). The problem is they broke eventually. Did anyone play DK64? For the most part it was pretty bad (too many characters, and nothing really original about it: with the same story, graphics, music etc. as Banjo-Kazooie), but th...

It's hard to say, there are heaps of ASCII games like that.

Try Nethack, it's my favourite Roguelike.

Also, check all the games in the following link
http://www.the-underdogs.info/genre.php ... =Roguelike
It's probably in there somewhere.
