EazyZip gives 5 options at a right click on a ZIP file: Extract to, extract here, extract to (file spec), create self extracting zip (if already zipped), create spanned set (for floppies or other media). For a regular file/folder to be compressed there are 2 right click options: Compress to ZIP + Op...

The EazyZip site is at: http://ipsoft.cjb.net/ You should get any ??? answered there. They have other offerings as well. ;) I confess not to have used all the possible zip progs. Like most of us, I try out other progs when the one we've been using fails in some manner. I'll look in on a few suggeste...

Calm down a bit. Win 98 is better integrated but still starts with a command.com before it hands off to the Windoze structure. So you are both right. Now to the problem... It was common for 2 different sound channels (or more) to be necessary to get sound and effects to work. Some games worked bette...

A Better Zipper!!
For ZIPin' fun, "Winzip8 or 9" are fine, but "EasyZip 2000" is great. I've found it handles file very well and compresses a bit better. There is no nag screen and the config options are extensive. I recommend you install it in ever PC. Here's from the intro: Introduction Have you...

I gotta go with Kazer0 on this. The AMD is generally = to a 3.4 ghz P4 in PERFORMANCE and runs at a lower core speed, using less power (in most cases) and reducing demands on the motherboard. So, I say the Athlon would be prefered. I'd like to up the Athlon's RAM since that's the only com...

1. So does the sound work in other games? If so check carefully to see if the offending game has special settings or the options are correct. 2. Doesn't need drivers? DOS always needs drivers. Win XX may or may not, depending on version. So what's the OS: DOS? Win XX? That would help us diag this so...

OK, first thing would be to swap in another KB. If good then your old KB needs the reset, not the PC. Next, the remap, did you do it in autoexec.bat or config.sys (or other file)? Use a boot disk or F5 (at boot) to bypass and edit these files to original. Better yet, did you save a copy of the old a...

It is ALIVE!!!! The Johpower has returned. :cuccoan: :cuccoan: :cuccoan:  Thanks to an invite from a venerable personage of questionable olifactory persuasion, I figured I should get off the Flash Gordon rocketcycle and sit before the monitor once again. Wat 'appen'd: a very helpful operation o...

So what did you do during the Olympics
Till yesterday it's been colder n'hell so I was watching the Olys and missing all the fake TV garbage. US did right OK and the Canuks are having a very decent Games, too. Recorded the majority of the whole thing as I love real people, doing real things, loosing and winning on their own merits, scrip...
