Oh yeah, I still have those "Duke Nukum" versions. :) As for these, they are clearly shareware. But even if they weren't, it is not so much out of the ordinary for a third party publisher to have an agreement with the developer or the primary publisher to distribute their games to a specif...

1.) If your mobo supports SMART for your hard drive, you'll have to turn that off. SMART will keep telling you that your hard drive is failing due to the Fat16 file system. That's news to me. Do you have any source / explanation to this? SMART, as far as I know, is agnostic to the file system. 2.) ...

I assume your H:\ has a mounted image of the exact Corridor 7 CD, so it sounds like you need to do: mount d h:\ -t cdrom (without the extra path).

Or use imgmount on the ISO itself, as suggested.

Very nice article indeed. Although I think he kind of did not explain the main point of the first part clearly. 320x200 (or 640x400) is a 8:5 resolution, but it was filling the entire 4:3 CRT, because the pixels weren't square. But the key is this: the reason those games looked correct on 4:3 CRTs (...

Most sound cards have only limited Sound Blaster capability, and even that frequently does not work. On a modern PC, DOSBOX will probably be way more compatible than this method. This method is more appropriate for an ancient PC which has true DOS-compatible hardware, and does not have the performan...

Seriously, this is pointless. Why would anyone bother rebooting the system every time to play a game, when one can use DOSBox (or other emulators, if one insists)? Not to mention the audio compatibility issues you will have this way. On any reasonably modern PC (that is, something less than a decade...

A simple search on Ebay for "Satellite Pro M30 Fan" and "Satellite Pro M30 Keyboard" yields quite a few results. I would look there to see if any of them look like what you need and take it from there.

You can always change the timestamp manually later.

What would you use inside DOSBox to extract it?

I decided to bump this old thread just to say thanks, because I've had the same weird acceleration bug just now. And thanks to the information here I had it resolved. I too suspected DOSBox at first, and would have never guess it's a corrupt configuration issue. I also have the game installed on my ...

My God, it looks horrible. Descent especially. Like it was painted by a slightly drunk 12-year old.

I use to like the looks of these "oversmooth" scalers, like Super-Eagle in ZSNES, but especially on big screens it looks pretty bad. I'd rather pixelation even. :)

Indeed.

One example that comes to mind is the intermission music from DOOM2 (D_DM2INT).

Railroad Tycoon is Sid Meier's.

The answer is Rollercoaster Tycoon, which apparently was indeed originally planned as a sequel to Transport Tycoon.

In case my answer is accepted, I pass my turn to Rwolf, since his guess pointed me in the right direction. :)

Golden Axe : YES! :bday: I saw that Golden Axe was one of the guesses to the earlier games (which was not correct), but it is obviously correct in this case. :) Let's summarize: Hint 1: The DOS port of this game supported the full soundtrack (music, not just sound effects) being played through the ...
