I don't think any of the QB games were like that: the major ones were Nibbles (snake) and a scorched earth clone about apes throwing bananas at each other.

I think the question is the wrong one.

How many games have you finished is much more interesting: and no counting those damned flash things. The problem with the current question is 'Yay, I played internet backgammon once, and internet hearts twice, normal hearts again'.

Err, perhaps you should put those links in the message, rather than just the title.

If you're going to spam up our forum at least do it right, dumbshit.

It is? Where can I download DOS Doom? I actually agree, more and more modern games are based off movies (Matrix, Kong, and a few hundred LOTR games for example). However, the games are usually separate enough for it not to matter. Its not like a game from a movie is worse than a unique idea (though ...

Looks interesting: -what do x.x, y.y, x.y etc represent? -Have you tested it yet? Put it on a cube model or something and see what happens. -Also, is it a problem that you can only do integer rotations? A large object might look a little 'clunky' as it rotates. -rotation is probably the hardest func...

How is opening the forum pointless? It would let the rest of us ask web-related questions / advertise our sites without entering the 'General' forums.

In a Windows OS of some sort, just open the Warcraft folder and double-click the War.exe (or maybe war.bat, war.com, can't remember) icon.

From what I remember, Warcraft I should work fine under windows once you get it open.

19 years old.

It just goes to show, even though the games are old, most of the people playing them have grown up with more modern games. Clearly, we prefer the older ones though.

I have done QB programming before, making a huge Roguealike. The flaw is, it stopped working when I got a newer version of windows, then my source got deleted (could have fixed it from a week old backup, but I was already sick of the game by then anyway). It was pretty slow for its time, and since t...

The first computer games were Kingdom of Kroz, Carmen Sandiego and a really old version of Simcity. I played them on a monochrome (green and black) screen at around 1992. The earliest I remember playing and enjoying (when we finally got a decent Pentium computer and a good monitor) was Commander Kee...

Make sure you have ammo: shoot should be either spacebar, or alt+ctrl (simultaneously). Make sure it's the left alt, as newer keyboards sometimes regard the right alt as a different key alt-gr.

Aside from that, not sure why you couldn't shoot.

I think the style of early 90s game was the best. They were good games, simple but not repetitive (they had predesigned levels) and saw the first examples of the big modern genres: Realtime Strategy (Warcraft) and FPS (Wolfenstein, then Doom). Not saying gaming hasn't evolved, just that platformers ...
