IPX isn't installed in XP by default. Go to your Network Connection Settings, open the properties for the connection you want to use, and under protocols, click install or add (maybe protocols shows later). Then, intsall NWare NetBIOS/IPX (or something like that).

Doom 3 is a remake of Doom 1? You're probably joking, but Doom 3 is as far from Doom 1 as you can get. The mod "CDoom" (ClassicDoom) for it changes things a bit and has E1M1.

I thought this is supposed to be "new". I know other things'll be changed, but I for one am tired of the background.

Doom Legacy is great for Doom, Doom II, and the other Doom WADs (TNT, Plutonia). It adds a lot of features, but maybe too many features.

Did you update your MySQL database? Because my host upgraded to the latest version, and they had a million problems because of incompatibility. In fact, a whole lot of other sites were down because of MySQL problems.

Windows 97? Well, everyone hates windows, and, all those people use windows*. There's no 'good' alternative, unless you like Mac, and I don't (half my software doesn't work on it). *well, most of them. Few people have windows and LIKE it.
