My only solid view on copyright laws is that as soon as the artist/creator dies, the thing should become public domain. I hate the fact that Disney has bought courts to extend copyrights to last until 70 years after the artist dies. Seriously, that's insane. With laws like that, Shakespeare wouldn'...

The 486DX4/100 is a pretty peppy chip and is only about 50% slower than the Pentium. Caveat: some 486 motherboards do not support the DX4 and therefore I recommend the 486DX2/66 for safety and compatiblity. There was a cutoff at DX/2 66 that were 5V and newer chips thats were 3.45V (dx/2 80 and hig...

Re: RE: MEMORY PROBLEMS (XMS???)
I have a pII 166 with 24Mb of Ram. I recently had to re-format my HD, and I managed to install Privateer, (the original). I've made a boot disk, but I still get the message "insufficient DOS memory". This seems to be a common problem. How can I set up my AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS to mak...

Let them all rot. If the people like being ruled by dictators let them, its not our call. If they want to have 100+ offenses that result in the death penalty who are we to judge them? The US and UN should intervene when one country tries to take over another country, internal matters should be settl...

The 386 Dx-40 will run Win95 fine. I ran it years ago with 5MB RAM, 120MB HDD with a 512K SVGA graphics card and it performed very well under Windows95 and 3.1 (it actually ran faster on 95 as the DX is a 32 bit chip). The only issues I had were with RAM but I really ran it with the minimum - 5MB! ...

Nobody cares about the small time pirate who grabs a few games from a small time ftp server or newsgroup. The main targets are huge P2P trading networks and the groups that crack the programs and distribute them. I know of people who were members of ftp sites that got busted and were never contacted...

you buy a game of 80 bucks you expect that money to be given to the person who made the game, as he would deserve it!! I would guess the store that sold you the game along with the distributor make more money then the company producing the game. The actual programmers get paid a weekly wage, and ma...

O_o... did you read the article? Interplay didnt shut down, it was forced to leave its building and fire it's employees. The company is still there with no funds, and the owner. He might make a game, you just wait. As for the freespace issue.... I hate it when you use me as an example ;) The reason...

This is what happens when you download abandonware, and/or copy or burn games from friends... Piracy cripples the IT/IS and Gaming Industries!! downloading abandonware games is just as bad as stealing from a shop...and I know most people wouldn't do that!! Come on, most abandonware is not for sale ...
