Yeah, it does. Every version of DOS does. Just when you launch a game that unloads DOS from memory, you will get a "Insert a diskette with COMMAND.COM into drive A" message after you quit it.

In MK1 it's F1 for Player 1 start, F2 for player 2 start. F10 is indeed setup, but only in some versions (not in the pre-release).

I think DOOM 2D is an interesting game and a very good one in its own way. But it appeals to very few people overall. First of all, it seems very hard, if not downright impossible when you begin. In reality it really is hard, although very much possible. It seems that you need to be more than a DOOM...

Have you tried running the setup program to configure sound?

Cheats are various and you type them while playing.

IDDQD, IDKFA, IDFA, IDSPISPOPD, IDCLEVxx are the useful ones to play with.

I haven't played DOOM III yet.

DOOM II was superior to the original DOOM in terms of versatility. More monsters, tougher ones, and of course, the super shotgun!

GameMaster.EXE wrote:Well anyway will it work if I opened a DOS prompt from windows, made it full screen, and typed in the command?
It will be the same as running the game by double-clicking its program icon, or whatever method you've been using to run it.

You shouldn't need DOSBox then. To verify which sound card you have, go to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager and check under "Sound and game controllers". To run in pure DOS, reboot your PC, press F8 during startup, just before Windows begins to load. You should get a menu. Select ...

Yeah, I'm familiar with PC DOS. I once had an IBM Thinkpad 80486-SX33 laptop which had PC DOS 6.3, virtually equivalent to MS-DOS 5.0. Which version of PC DOS are you using? Anything special about it?

Windows NT = Complete Waste Of Time * Old * Nothing works on it It's kinda like the original Grand Theft Auto compared to the sequels, if you know what I mean. The concept is great, but the implementation was lacking at times. Just like GTA2, GTA3 and others improved on GTA, Win2K and WinXP improved...

DOOM, Duke3D, Quake and the likes for two people can be fun, but only if the deathmatch level is small enough. Some other games that are fun to play with a friend (and you don't even need two computers) are fighting games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Wrestlemania as well as the classic strate...

The Sempron 2800+ runs at 2.0GHz and the Pentium M 725A at 1.6GHz. I'd say the difference is indeed small enough, so maybe the Pentium M will beat it, or it will lose by some. The Sempron is still a budget CPU, like the Celeron, although probably a bit better. I'd go for the Pentium M. However, as w...
