Looking for a Fantasy PC game from the early 2000s I played as a demo, I think the demo came with Diablo 2, but could've been Baldur's Gate 2, or Conquest: Frontier Wars?
It was a 4X Turn Based Strategy game with tile based combat, in the same style as Heroes of Might and Magic or Age of Wonders.
All I can remember from the demo is you played as an elven race with a tree that worked as the capital, which, IIRC is where you generated your units from. There were other races you fought against, I think dwarves or orcs were the enemy in the demo. Your army could only move a certain number of spaces each turn, which was indicated with small green spheres for each step (unlike the arrows in HoMM).
I think it was released by Ubisoft? Couldn't find anything in their listing that matched what I'm describing though.
Thanks for the help!
