Old PC Ninja Game [Super Ninja Boy]

I hope someone out there can help me out.

I played this PC ninja game on my uncle's computer with my brother. I can't remember what the name is after all these years. The game was in the late 80s or early 90s.
I will separate the things I very well remember and the things I kinda remember.

100% remember:
The main map was a flat 2D surface where your character (one person controls it) moves up, down, left, right.

Somehow we enter a 2D side scroller as 2 ninjas and both of us are able to play.

I would die often and my brother would finish the level. Then he would go resurrect me. I distinctly remember this because we joked that he had to "carry my dead body" all the way back.

There was a single player option. But since I often died, I only played with my brother.

Kinda Remember:
The colors of the ninjas were blue and red.

I could throw ninja stars but my ammo was limited. I kinda remember spamming it and not having any.

I kinda remember a merchant that we could talk to and buy things.

I kinda remember a desert area on the main map. That was where we stopped playing.

I kinda remember the graphics being impressive for its time. Maybe 16 bit.

I found the game. Sorry for my mistake but it was actually "Super Ninja Boy" on Super Nintendo.
