Warcraft 2 is listed as supported (means OK to run in dosbox)@ Vogons.
Warcraft 2: Beyond the Dark Portal (1996) 100% (supported)
Warcraft 2: Tide of Darkness (1995) 100% (supported)

Do you have the Dos versions? Thought there also was a Windows version, dosbox won't help you then....

Did you take a look @ the stickies here?

How you mount the game in dosbox?

More details please.
PLENTY more details.

OS? PC? CPU? Monitor? Ram? ....

Your mount is wrong.
You need a c:\games
Your inputs:

mount c c:\games
c:
cd WCR2
war

Means you must install Warcraft through dosbox in c:\wcr2
(Windows path is c:\games\wcr2)
Run setup FIRSTin dosbox.
Setup:
Digital SBPro -> auto set -> test -> ok
Music SB PRO2 -> auto set -> test -> ok
Save and exit.

If the game lags in dosbox, rerun setup and disable music card.

BTW: check in windows if your folder WCR2 isn't write protected, seems that this sometimes happens.
Oh heck, rightclick on your folder( whilst in windows) -> properties -> look if the readonly box is unchecked.

*Edit:
Check above this page your PMs, You have one.

Means is a windows executable, can not run in dos.
So you must have the windows version.
I don't have that one, so I can't say for sure, but try directly in windows.

I've followed the instructions here, and the demo works, but when I click on "single player game", it says I need to insert my cd. My cd is already in the drive, and I know the computer is acknowledging it in windows xp, but it won't run the game in xp (hence DOSBox). But in DOSBox, it won't let me play b/c it won't acknowledge the cd.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Mount the CD correctly ? (As D)
And install the game from D to C (dosbox) ?

Just some general advise, as I have the no-CD WCII game Shit-Eating Grin

How did you get hold of that?? :-)

I tried what you said, and it didn't seem to help. Not sure what's wrong. Thanks, though!
