And get yourself dosbox 0.72, better performance and compability.
It installs itself in an other folder and creates his own start menu items, will not interfere with older versions.
Do NOT copy/paste your old dosboxconfig but edit the 0.72 one manually if needed.
If that all doesn't help you have corrupted files, because No Remorse runs flawless in dosbox 0.72. |

As said, Crusader runs fine in dosbox 0.72, so your game (probably downloaded?) is faulty.
Can't help you further, sorry.
Your options:
Buy the game or search for a valid ISO. |

well i downloaded ripped version and i copied savegame file to this and i try and AGAIN all the same - after level 3 hang up, black screen and i cannot continue... well probability that two completely different versions of the game are broken on the same way is not very big so... also i tested it on three versions of DOSBox (0.63, 0.65 and 0.72) and the problem still remains! i read that solution if the game locks up may be adding lines FILES=40 and BUFFERS=40 in config.sys. Allthrough there is no config.sys in DOSBox, i thought that arrangements can be done in some other way (by altering dosbox.conf) but now u say Crusader works perfectly on DOSBox so i am totally confused!
Please, if anybody has any clue about this problem, please let me know... Thanx |

When downloading rips from the internet (even from different sources), great chances they are the same, as those sites copycat their contents the whole time, certainly if they are game rips, so they suffer all (or almost all) from the same flaws.
So: go on a hunt for a full ISO (is findable) or simply buy the game, and you will have a working game in dosbox 0.72.
BTW, those 'files' and 'buffers' are fully taken care of by dosbox, it was only needed in the ol'Dos times to edit config.sys. No need for added lines in dosboxconfig, totally needless.
You had your answers, nothing more we can do. |

But then after 3rd level (and after video sequences where we meet WEC president) goes blank screen and game locks up. So i got this CD rip version just in case that CD/ISO might be corrupted. And in this CD rip version everything was the same except there was no videos before it. So these ARE two completely different versions of the game: 1)origianl CD/ISO version and 2)CD-rip version. And as i said its not very big probability that two copletely different versions of the game are broken in the very same way. |
Unlocked .......

Maybe it's your savegame files that are corupted? Or infected? Whatever?
I have no idea what's wrong and can't find anything related to your problem on other sites.
Why don't you skip the level? Warp to level 5? |

No idea, maybe, maybe not, the only known fact: you have a problem somewhere.
A simple warp to the next level will probably be the easiest way out of this. |

I have looked into the problem a bit. Its actually a bug in the game. Level 3 has many different secrets that can be accessed, many of them cutting across huge parts of level 3. If you use one of those conveyor belts in a certain way, the game gets confused about the exact position of the crusader.
I investigated it a little bit, and you can tell that when you get to the end of the level the game has a problem centering the camera on the crusader. The key was noticing that when the crusader gets near the elevator pad, it moves before he actually gets on it. Whenever that happens, the game hangs at the end of level 3. I have not yet figured out which secret causes it.
The only way *around* it is to replay level 3 again and hope that when you get to the end of the level, you do not have a problem with the camera. If you do not cut across the level, you shouldn't have any problems. |
