Hey guys, I used to play Skyroads on like windows 95 or 98, and the music and game went fine, but now I have Windows 2000 pro, so I cant have the music, but then I got VDMSound, it went really jerky when I heard the music! It made me sad And then I saw that you were giving out the WAV/MP3 files if we E-mailed u, and to that I have one question, does the mp3 sound better/diferent than the WAV? Just wondering, and I was trying to get the music for myself, that is till I fell upon this thread. P.S Has anyone even beat the last level in Skyroads? Thx.

| Yeah, it made all the sound work, but the songs were not smooth they were jerky sounding. |

| You often get that when trying to play DOS games on XP, there doesn’t seem to be any way around it sometimes. |

| Yup, emulation is a hard thing. Poor results from DOSbox running your game is usually because the computer needs a bunch of CPU Power just to run the emulation. You can see how much it takes by running DOSbox then opening Task Manager. System Manager if your using WinME/9x. For me, its over 96%. Only less than 4% left for music and video. What do you get? A messed up game. |

Hey, it's me again, Baron Bill. It seems there's a bunch of people who come in, and don't bother to read the entire forum before posting a reply. So, I'll try a quick summary here.
1) Download the game to play it here.
http://www.bluemoon.ee/history/skyroads/index.html
2) Search and download DOS BOX. Use that to start playing the game. The music will sound like garbage, but hit RECORD anyway. When you're done, you will have a perfect copy of the music. By the way, the game beeps when you run low on fuel, so put something heavy on the keyboard to push the right button. This causes the ship to fall off the side and never run out of fuel.
3) I could send you the sound files in WAVE format. I use a website called: http://www.yousendit.com/ to send them. The links will only last 7 days and then expire. The files are in WAVE format. This means that 1) you can edit them yourself to fix or modify them, and 2) they are 20 MB each file. If someone wants to make them into MP3 and send them back to me, hey great. Or if you know where to put them up for download, let me know.
4) Anyone who REEEALLY wants the music, try my E-mail address: JustWillBot@yahoo.com Also if you want to contact me, E-mail there. And in case you didn't think of it, you could play the music tracks, then start the game, and you'd be playing with the music. Nice idea, huh?
5) Oh, and one last comment. For those people looking for the music, or wanting me to contact them? Try putting your E-mail address in your post, and I'll try to get back to you, provided you're not asking a question already answered in the forum here. I don't check back often, but I will eventually. |
