Check out the new trailer. It looks pretty good, and had me laughing quite a bit. Seems like it'll be a good show.
When I was a kid (1999-2002ish) there was a tv show on called The Screen Savers. It was a really neat campy show - lots of gags, it showed live and there was a heavily interactive spirit to it, with people calling in and commenting/affecting the show and getting tech support, and occasional death matches against certain characters on the show on air. It was pretty wonderful. Sadly, it lost most of that when G4 took over, and I haven't been interested in any game shows on tv since.
With the advent of youtube and streaming media, there have of course been hundreds of new game "shows", but most of these shows are actually graphical game reviews or one off gags. (like the Gamer News Network on Escapist, for example) This show, on the other hand, actually looks like it'll be an actual show. Interviews, lots of skits, discussion of gaming concepts, humour, as well as game reviews. And the production looks quality enough for me. (Yahtzee is of course incredibly ugly - but he can probably play that to his advantage, what with his evil reputation) |

Hmmmm... this looks pretty awesome, very professionally made (almost like TV material) and a nice show to steal ideas from for me lol... but as far as Gaming shows online are concerned nothing beats The Angry Video Game Nerd ... the nerd that started it all |

Um...Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation begs to differ.
And he's on this show too! Badass.

Well, AVGN does do skits every once in a while, and they mostly suck. |

Looks pretty good, let's wait and see.
I only hope the gaming industry will not sponsor the show ........ |

Eh... I think it's easier to update crappy drawings and picture sideshows with a monotonous voice over than AVGN which has actual film and animation production, acting, game footage, editing, sound re-recording, lip syncing, lighting, camera operation, etc. not to mention a catchy theme song which features a different video intro each new episode
Also AVGN is an actual filmmaker who has always been making some incredible original films as well since he was a kid as opposed to most other gamer shows who have little to zero other activities other than making game oriented stuff... so yeah I think James has some other priorities as well than just doing AVGN stuff all the time. He even has plans to write and direct a feature length film one day. |

Weren't we discussing the quality of the entertainment provided by both AVGN and Yahtzee, not how awesome they are and how much people would like to have their babies?
Sides, Yahtzee is also a game maker! Beat that! |

Albeit, one very good game (5 Days a Stranger), a couple pretty good games (7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes) and one big pile-o-crap to end the series (6 Days a Sacrifice)
And some other games, but I've never played 'em so I can't comment on those ones. Yahtzee should do a Zero Punctuation episode on his own games. |

And have the universe implode on itself? No thank you!
Oh, and I'd dare say Trilby's Notes is just as good(if not better - durr soda) as 5 Days a Stranger. |

| Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment is a pretty good Starflight-esque freelance space adventure, and Art of Theft is a legitimately brilliant puzzle game. 1213 is pretty decent survival/horror/platformer. His earlier games (before the famous Days trilogy) are more "blah", but he's a legit game maker... he's made a dozen at least. |

Whoa... Yahtzee makes games too...Cool I didn't know that... ofcourse I didn't know who Yahtzee was before I read this thread lol.
It's good to have an actual game maker make game reviews so they know how much hard work it really is. It's like a film critic who actually makes movies of his own... which is rare. Respect!
Also don't write things in such small print Larry. If it wasn't for Emmzee quoting it, I'd have had to borrow your glasses to read them... and we both know we don't want THAT

Soooo, you've been arguing that AVGN is better than Zero Punctuation without even knowing what Zero Punctuation is? Way to be unbiased.
Also, I heard copy-pasting small print helps. |

I heard hitting "quote" on the post works too.
And I generally watch ZP every Wednesday, even though I've played about 1% of the games reviewed. Yahtzee's discussion of the genres involved and gaming in general - as well as his excellent humor - make it worth while.
Do you have trouble understanding him, Santhosh? I've had some friends of mine who are non-native speakers complain that he's difficult to understand because he speaks so fast. Then again, Larry seems to understand him fine, but Larry is a freak of nature very proficient in English.

Nah I understand him perfectly and the jokes were great and very witty. I just wanted to point out that AVGN works more on vids than him so it takes longer to update.
And yes we all know that Larry is a freak of nature very proficient in English. Oops.... struck out the wrong one. Or did I
