I found this game today on Underdogs ... okay, its not a DOS game  But it definitely has a DOS game feel kinda feel, or maybe its the feel of a good NES game. Anyways, I think its pretty good so far for a simple sidescrolling/jumping platform game. Heres the link:

"Akuji the Demon" its called ... apparently it was originally in Japanese. So unzip the zip file you download from Underdogs. There's two zipfiles inside the original ... unzip the game, then unzip and run the patch to convert the text to English. Unless you know Japanese  In which case that's awesome 
Oh yea, you'll probably want to change the difficulty setting ... I left it at the default ("Easy") and the game has been really easy so far ... so I'm prolly going to start over and pick a tougher difficulty ..... |

Akuji has been on GH for ages.
its an OK game, even though kinda too cliche for moi. much better platformers out there though.  |
