Post subject: old game--good amount of information! [=KQ 6] |

I used to play this old PC game back in the late/mid 90s. It was one of those "adventure" type games where you get items and use them in specific locations to continue on. I don't remember ever fighting anything (though the back of the game showed the main character with a sword...).
Near the beginning, I believe, there was a forked path where the town was left and castle right--at the castle, one could use a mirror or some sort of hole to look through the wall. I could never enter the castle.
At the fork was a tree that had something in it or did something.
In the town you could start getting some items that were necessary for moving on (sorta like a trade quest, each necessary for moving on). Someone once showed me a way to get a rope from one of the sailors or an inn keeper that I never knew about.
At some point in the story, your character could be eaten or killed by a tree in some sort of swampy area. I think I remember some dialogue about "its bark is worse than its bite."
I think the main character worse some sort of green shirt with a brown vest over it. His hair may have been black, and somewhat flat. I don't remember any real facial detail other than an outline.
I know this is ambiguous but I've been wanting to look up this game, now that I can actually coherently play the thing. Anyone have any idea what the game I'm talking about is? |

Here you go!
edit: Ambiguous? Hah! One of the better fleshed descriptions I've read this week. |

This is so awesome I've remembered this game for the past decade and some but never had enough information to actually find the game myself. I didn't realize 'til now to look out a specific request, but then again, I didn't quite believe there would actually be a place like this board
Thanks for the awesome help. You've made mine--and my brother's!--month at the very least. Thanks thanks thanks! |
