First of all, set up dosbox for your system:
If on XP:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5443
If on Vista:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10437
Run dosbox and mount your CD
mount d x:\ -t cdrom
Replace the X:\ by your real CD drive letter under windows.
Go in dosbox to D: and run install
Choose 'full' install
Leave all the rest as it is.
Install will leave dosbox in C:\CORR7CD\
Now input setup
This will open the sound and controls config panel, the correct choices are:
Music card: Adlib
Sound effects: Sound Blaster
Save and exit.
To play now: input corr7 , that's all.
To play later:
mount your CD again as D: and input:
cd corr7cd
corr7
@the C: dosbox prompt.
Remark:
Using the real CD isn't really a good thing here, it will cause slow downs ingame, as the CD is accessed frequently by the game, and modern CD drives have relative long spinup spindown times ( the old 2X 4X drives didn't spindown) so you're much better off playing the CD version from an image. This will also avoid heavy workload for your CD drive.
However, the audio is on separate tracks, so you can't use an ISO image, you must use a BIN/CUE CD image.
You can create a dosbox compatible BIN/CUE image with ImgBurn, freeware and a good program:
http://www.imgburn.com/
To use the BIN/CUE image in dosbox you must imgmount the image as D:
imgmount d "x:\path\name.cue" -t iso
You don't need the CD anymore.
If you installed the game from the CD you don't need to reinstall it to use the CD image later. |
