Post subject: Diablo-Like Game + Upside-Down Magic Game [I'm Desperate!] |

Hey guys, this is my first time posting here - or anywhere, really.
I've never been one to hang out in forums, but I thought it was about time to get some help with these two games I've been looking for from my childhood.
Game 1:
This game was very much like Diablo (birds-eye view, point and click to walk), but I don't remember whether or not there was any combat involved, I think I had the demo version which came on a CD with a magazine back in the 90s. I remember there was an intro movie where there'd be a bunch of bees/wasps flying, the camera was moving with them and eventually they'd fly towards some lady and she'd end up screaming.
Anyway, back to the game.
Here's what I remember:
The game was on an island at first, there was sand, I think - lots of rocks.
There was .. I think it was a dried out dead body wrapped in some cloth? Later on in the game you had to get a crow to help you get blood or something to make the body come back alive.. Haha.
Uhh, there was a medallion of some kind that you could find on the ground, there were people inside their houses refusing to come outside because they thought the bees/wasps were (still?) attacking their villiage.
I also remember a giant squid/octopus/kraken coming out of the water. He was friendly, I guess and he thanked the player for saving the town. After that, I remember getting on a boat to go somewhere and I'm pretty sure that's where the demo ended.
Game 2:
This is a game I -really- don't remember much about, because it wasn't mine. I'd go over to my cousin's house as a child and we'd play this game he had.
I think he refered to it as "Upside Down Town" or "Topsy Turvy Town" whether or not that's what it's called, I have no idea.
I remember that some evil witch/wizard/magic thing had turned everything in the town upside down and you'd have to run around the town clicking on objects to make them go the right way up again.
As I said, I really don't remember much about this game - so I'm afraid that's probably all I can give..
EDIT: Another detail that slipped my mind! I'm quite sure that you played as a child, maybe with a magic wand given by a wizard who wants you to help restore things to the way they were. (Not upside down)
Also, you'd walk to the sides of the screens to switch to another area.. I think?

EDIT: I should also add that after flipping through the pages on this forum and seeing that people are asking for help finding games that aren't for PC, that these two most definitely were on the PC. I'll be extremely grateful if someone can figure these out for me, as I've been searching for YEEAAARSSS.

Oh wow.
I guess someone might eventually come along and know what I'm talking about. Haha.
If it helps, I think Game 1 came on a demo disc from an Australian(?) magazine called "PC User". |

| I think your first game may be one of the Dr. Brain games... they also had wasps, etc, and the isometrics. |

Dr. Brain?
Nah, I just googled it. Dr. Brain seems to be an educational game.
This game's quite a serious one. It was 3D, very similar to Diablo when it came to moving your character around.
Ick. I wish I remembered it! >_< |

you sure that's not it? You move your character just like in Diablo, it's isometric (not sure if you mean "3D" or actual FPS 3D), and it's got the bee stings and island and all of that... |

Yeah, I'm sure - it wasn't cartoony and I think the game may have been for windows 95 or 98.
It definitely wasn't a kids game and it wasn't supposed to be educational. :B

I AM LOOKING FOR UPSIDE TOWN AS WELL!
Did the opening have something that went along the lines of
"Hey, you there, yes you" and you had to find a key and there was a witch that locked you in your room and turned the whole town upside down!!!?!?!?!?!
I've been looking for EVIDENCE that this game existed for years - let alone finding the actual game anywhere... so good luck. But I am 99.9% sure the game was called Upside Town if that helps |
